Eric Chipman serves as the Executive Director of the Helen Foster Snow Foundation and Gung Ho Programs. He began his career at the Utah State Board of Education supporting the launch of the state’s Chinese Dual Immersion Program and later served as an Executive Director in the University of Utah's Asia Center, where he led Chinese language curriculum development, teacher training, and international exchanges, while also recieving a Master of Arts degree in World Language Education.

He also created "Language in the Wild," a US Department of Defense-funded Chinese immersion outdoor adventure language program, and now leads Gung-Ho Exchange programs, which connect U.S. and Chinese students through project-based learning and cultural exchange. His current work focuses on building a national Chinese language curriculum and asynchronous online exchange platform to bring the transformative power of cross-cultural exchange programs into the everyday classroom.

Heather Wilford

Program Coordinator & Intern

Heather is is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Chinese with a minor in Asian Studies at Brigham Young University. Over the past few summers, she has worked as a camp counselor and coordinator for Gung Ho Programs. Passionate about learning, travel, and building meaningful cross-cultural connections, Heather first discovered Helen Foster Snow in 2022 after coming across a BYU exhibit on her life. Inspired, she dedicated a semester-long research project to exploring Helen’s story, her impact on China, and her personal archives housed at BYU. Heather is excited to now contribute to Helen’s legacy through her work with the Helen Foster Snow Foundation.
