Our Mission

Gung Ho programs are unique for their deep emphasis on cross-cultural collaboration, pairing U.S. and Chinese students 1-to-1 in immersive, project-based experiences that foster real friendships and mutual understanding. Through outdoor adventures, language immersion, and sustainability leadership projects co-led by international experts, students work side-by-side to tackle real-world challenges in a spirit of shared purpose and global teamwork.

2026 Camp Gung Ho

Past Programs

2026 Kung Fu Shaolin Temple Trip

A unique cultural and martial arts immersion program where students traveled to China to train at the historic Shaolin Temple. Participants experienced daily kung fu instruction while exploring the rich history, traditions, and philosophy of one of China's most iconic cultural landmarks.

2026 Gung Ho K-12 Education Delegation to China

A professional exchange program for K–12 educational leaders, featuring school visits, educator discussions, and cultural immersion experiences throughout China. Participants explored new educational perspectives while building international connections and partnerships.

2026 Qinghai-Utah Student Exchange

In 2026, Gung Ho welcomed a delegation of students from Qinghai, China, marking the first student delegation from China hosted by our organization since the COVID-19 pandemic. Through school visits, homestays, and community engagement, students celebrated the return of meaningful international exchange.

2024 Camp Gung Ho

Our inaugural Camp Gung Ho in Shanghai and Wuxi, China, paired American and Chinese students in a one-to-one exchange experience. Together, they explored the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and presented their projects to the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai.

2024 Spring Break Trip

During Spring Break 2024, students traveled across China, visiting historic sites, meeting local people, and experiencing daily life in a way that can't be replicated in a classroom. For many participants, it was their first opportunity to see China firsthand.

2024 Admin Delegation

The 2024 Administrator Delegation provided school and district leaders with a unique look at education in China. Through visits to K–12 schools and universities, participants exchanged ideas with Chinese counterparts, explored innovative teaching practices, and developed relationships that support future collaboration.

2023 Language in the Wild

An immersive outdoor Chinese language adventure where students learn by doing. Throughout the camp, participants built language confidence, teamwork, and lifelong memories in the great outdoors.
